No audio playback on any group when samples have been loaded

Reported by Dkm | September 24th, 2009 @ 09:53 AM

So my problem is that when I load up samples and turn on dac in the latest version of mlrv I get no audio or moving lights(actually in mlrv the red indicator doesn't move either). On the monome forums it was suggested I go back to max 5.07 from 5.08 but that's done nothing. Any advice?

Osx 10.4.11/15" powerbook G4, 1.25ghz, 2gb ram
max 5.07
no rewiring involved

i believe xgroove~ is universal binary, but there may be some incompatibility

most other testers are on 10.5 w/ an intel machine, so i'm not sure i can rule out your system as the problem.

have you simply unzipped the folder and worked straight from there? the 'error loading patcher_framework.maxpat' makes me think something has not been copied / unzipped properly.

trying downloading a fresh copy and running mlrv straight out of the unzipped folder

I tried downloading a fresh copy as you said, straight to the folder where I keep all of my patches and then unzipped it from there... but I'm still getting the same errors in the Max window. I tried copying/pasting the two files for xgroove and then tried just moving them and either way I get the same result. Maybe it is my OS?

Checked with scrag and it seems to be an issue with PPCs. Any way to get xgroove to play nice with me or is there anyone with a PPC who's able to run this version of mlrv?

% uses a PPC, though i know he was having problems on his old computer > working fine on his intel machine though.

not sure what solution to use.

the best option is to use the old version by deleting "plx.maxpat" and renaming "pl.maxpat" to "plx.maxpat"

Just realized that this is indeed 100% similar to my issue (#49)

had exactly the same problem. as galapagoose said.

    deleting "plx.maxpat" and renaming "pl.maxpat" to "plx.maxpat"

    this worked for me.

    though still got the error

    binding to port 8000
    binding to port 8001
bpatcher: bpatcher: error loading patcher framework.maxpat
    bpatcher: bpatcher: error loading patcher
    framework.maxpat

but it seems to work fine.

    thanks for this, guys.

    ibook G4 OSX 10.4.11
    monome128
    monomeserial 0.30
    max runtime 5.1.5
    mlrV 27.11.9
    no soundcard (yet)

    my major thanks to galapagoose

    cheers
