when you load mlrv does anything show up in the max window?

when you turn on dac is the CPU usage meter moving (ie. not zero) > if it's not, try reselecting your interface in the dropdown menu > this will reinitialise the driver and it may be your problem.

also, try re-selecting 'internal' in the clocksource menu

my cpu jumps around from 2% to 4%.

as you're on windows you need to install the .mxe file (not .mxo)
